Nigerian have taken to social media to remember Former Nigerian President, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua who died on this day , 5th of May ,10 years ago.
Umaru Musa Yar’Adua who was the 13th president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria was declared the winner of the controversial Nigerian presidential election held on 21 April 2007. He was sworn in on 29 May 2007 under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
In 2009, Yar’Adua left for Saudi Arabia to receive treatment for pericarditis. He returned to Nigeria on 24 February 2010, where he died 2 months later.
During his time in office, Yar’Adua made some changes which includes;
*Increased armed forces allowance. *increased NYSC allowance. *Reduced fuel price. *increased police salary. *Gave amnesty to the militants.
It is with no doubt that Nigerian have not been able to forget Late Musa Yar’adu and here’s what they are saying about him:
