Workplace hygiene is integral to promoting infection prevention and control (#ipc), improving workers safety and community health and wellbeing.
Simple hygienic steps as listed below helps curb the spread of #covid19 infection in workplaces and local communities:
1️⃣ Make sure your workplaces are clean and hygienic, regularly cleaned with disinfectant
2️⃣ Promote regular and thorough hand-washing by employees, contractors and customers
3️⃣ Promote good respiratory hygiene in the workplace
4️⃣ Advise employees and contractors to consult national travel advice before going on business trips
5️⃣ Brief your employees, contractors and customers that anyone with even a mild cough or low grade fever (37.3 C or more) needs to stay at home, including those who have used simple medications, such as paracetamol/acetaminophen, ibuprofen or aspirin, which may mask symptoms of infection.
Proper travel guides should be provided to employers/employees before traveling. Minimal trips to places that have recorded multiple cases of #covid19 is advised, as organizations should assess the benefits and risks related to upcoming travel plans. Consider issuing all traveling staff with small bottles (under 100 CL) of alcohol-based hand rub. This can facilitate regular hand-washing.
