Singer Burna Boy has said that he faced many hurdles which saw him rise by taking the stairs, unlike others who through the elevator.
The singer disclosed this in an interview with GQ Magazine saying, “unlike a lot of other people, I’ve had to go through never-ending steps to get here, whereas other people have taken the elevator to get here”.
Burna Boy recently lost another major international award after he got beaten to the Best Male International Award at the 2020 Brits Awards by US singer, Tyler The Creator.
The singer had last month lost the award for Best World Music to Angelique Kidjo at the 2020 Grammy Awards
A few weeks ago, Burna Boy received a lot of backlash after he took to Twitter to claim to be the best since the late Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti.
Recall that the singer once announced that he would be handing off his social media accounts because of the way his statements usually get attacked.
Well, with a successful African Giant album and a Grammy nomination, Burna Boy feels it’s high time he returns to the world of banters and trolls called social media.
He tweeted: “FACT! I always knew I was and I am THE BEST. Everyone you think is the best KNOWS I’m BEST since Fela Kuti. But @timayatimaya told me something a long time ago that made me not care about being the best. “The World can do without the Best” the world will still spin regardless”.
