Music, a food to the soul is a wonderful career and means of making lots of money. But it appears it did’t work out for many.
In fact, almost everyone at some point in their lives have convinced themselves that they have a talent for singing and as such, they could become the next music star like Davido, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage and others, that would captivate music lovers all over the world.
Interestingly, some Nollywood celebrities are not left out in this music “talent discovery” game.

JIM IYKE
Popular actor, Jim Iyke gave music a shot when he released his singles, “Who Am I”. Jim featured Tuface Idibia. Jim’s genre of music is rap and he was keen on making a statement musically and he spent a fortune on radio and television hypes.
Despite spending hugely on hypes and promotions his music career was short of being a success. The actor also did another entitled “Born To Do This” featuring Mike Word and Puffy T on it, but it did not make any good impact either.
He decided to run back to acting and other businesses that pay him.
Tonto Dikeh
Yes, you read well!!! Controversial actress turned Instagram drama queen and divorced mother of one, Tonto Dikeh has also tried her hands on music. Tonto Dikeh, initially appeared to be an actress that would make history and change the narrative, especially since she collaborated with much-loved singer Dbanj. Tonto also went the extra mile by releasing color music videos that did not stand the test of time on music stations in the country. One of her “hit” singles is “HIGH”
Omotola Jalade
There is no doubt that the actress is one of the best in the movie industry, however, when Omotola ventured into music in 2005, a lot of her fans were not entirely sure if they were seeing the same individual that effortlessly kills her movie roles.Although, it would be unfair to say she did not try her best; it was just not enough to match her talent as an actress. Some of her popular songs include Naija Lowa, The Things you do To Me.
Genevieve Nnaji
Just like her industry rival and sister, Omotola, Screen goddess, Genevieve Nnaji at some point in her career also took a break from acting and tried her luck with the movie industry.
Her first album “One Logologo Line” which was released in 2004 boasted of lead single “No More” which was an instant hit that got her fans grooving. Unfortunately, that was the only chance the screen diva got at impressing her fans with her musical talents. Her music career fizzled into oblivion just like the way she zoomed in.
