Former Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has called for the scrapping of the away goal rule from the UEFA Champions League and Europa League.
Wenger who is currently FIFA’S head of global football development stated this while speaking ahead of the Bayern Munich Vs Chelsea game which ended 3-0 in favour of the home team.
According to Wenger, the rule prevents home teams from playing full attacking football.
“You play at home by thinking every goal you concede, you are half out.
“Sometimes I feel that this away goal becomes a big handicap when you play your first game at home because you have to attack with keeping a certain security and not giving away too much,” Wenger said on beIN Sports.
