A few days ago, Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, popularly known as Winners’ Chapel, David Oyedepo, made headlines after a report claimed that he was denied a visa at the US Embassy in Lagos.
Although the Man of God debunked the report, saying he was never deprived of visa into the United States, some Nigerians were quick to mock him.
Pastor E.A Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God has now shown some love to him on Instagram.
Posting of the two of them, Adeboye wrote:
“We are pressured in every way [hedged in], but not crushed; perplexed [unsure of finding a way out], but not driven to despair; hunted down and persecuted, but not deserted [to stand alone]; struck down, but never destroyed; always carrying around in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the [resurrection] life of Jesus also may be shown in our body. For we who live are constantly [experiencing the threat of] being handed over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the [resurrection] life of Jesus also may be evidenced in our mortal body [which is subject to death].
2 Corinthians 4:8-11″
Meanwhile, a statement on Friday by the chairman of the Winners’ chapel church’s editorial and media board, Prof. Sheriff Folarin, said Oyedepo was never at the US Embassy or Consulate on Thursday.
“We wish to put it on record and categorically submit that this piece of information is NOT TRUE. At no time was the Bishop denied visa, nor did he create a scene at the US consulate in Lagos, as purported by some mainstream and online newspapers,” the church said.
