Small Chops: Another reason Chika Ike should give Nollywood a break

After the much anticipated and overly publicized movie, Small Chops, Ella Chioma of Kemifilani News stormed the cinema to get you the score card of the movie.

The movie Small Chops starring Nse Ikpe-Etim, Sophie Alakija, Toyin Abraham, Eucharia Anunobi, Rachael Okonkwo, Nkem Owoh, Hafiz Ayetoro and Chika Ike, as the lead actress was directed by Roberts Peters. While Chika Ike and her bestie, Serah Donalds produced it.

Small Chops tells the story of Nikita, a gifted club singer, played by Chika Ike, who has to deal with love, and realities of life.

The movie also tackles how Child abuse can hinder one’s relationship, marriage in future. Men’s money and sex entitlement, as well as betrayals from the ones you call ‘blood’

We doff our caps for Ms Ike for blessing our screen with veterans and well seasoned cast (except herself), who would have made the movie a wow, if it had been better scripted.

Aside the top movie stars it paraded, the Small Chops doesn’t worth the N2,500. It has no depth and not different from the regular African Magic movies.

Ike made her debut as a producer in the movie ‘Miss Teacher and had so far added ‘Happy Ending,’ ‘Dark Past,’ ‘Locked Up,’ ‘One Fine Day,’ and ‘African Diva Reality Show’ to her credits.
Well, you see, she has really given Nollywood her best and contributed her quota, we humbly think she should give acting, in fact, Nollywood as an industry a break – and try something else.
