Top Nigerian politicians have showered praises on Pastor Adeboye and his Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, for staging a protest against killings in the country.
The protest took place yesterday and right from the RCCG headquarters in Ebutte Metra in Lagos with Pastor Adeboye at the forefront.
One of those who reacted to the protest is AAC presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, who tweeted: “I salute the @rccghq on the protest against insecurity staged nationwide today & tagged “Prayer Walk” I want to urge other churches, mosques, artisans, students, youths to join in the struggle to liberate our dear nation. Resistance is the key to liberation”.
Former senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani also reacted saying: “Pastor Adeboye finally disembarking from the fence of caution, moderation and neutrality and leading a match against insecurity is commendable.Protest gives wings and wheels to Prayers”.
Former APC chieftain, Timi Frank commended the protest and called on all religious leaders to join hands with Pastor Adeboye on such walks.
“Nigerians must forget religious sentiments at this period. Muslim and Christian leaders need to come together and speak out loud because it is only in the atmosphere of peace that anybody can practice his or her religious faith,” he said.
Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode also praised Adeboye for staging the protest. He, however, questioned Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to know when he would embark on such protest.
He tweeted:”Pastor Enoch Adeboye and RCCG are conducting a protest march against the killings in the land.I commend them & hope that they will find the courage to accept that they made a mistake by supporting Buhari in the first place. Will RCCG Pastor Yemi Osinbajo will join in the march?”
