The Senate in Nigeria has stated that the Federal Government is not doing anything to prevent the spread of coronavirus into the country.
Senate President Ahmad Lawan revealed that other countries are doing the best they can to prevent the virus from getting into their country while the Federal Government is “busy doing nothing”.
“While the Federal Ministry of Health and associated agencies may be doing their best I think this best is not good enough and we should not take anything for granted. We are a prayerful nation. When we pray we should work with prayer,” Lawan said.
“We must take all the necessary measures at our seaports and airports. People should be screened and be quarantined. The Committee on Health should engage with the Federal Ministry of Health that people are screened when they come into our country,” he added.
