Gospel musician, Nathaniel Bassey has reacted to the death of Lawan Andimi, the chairman of the Adamawa State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN.
Lawani Andimi was executed by Boko Haram insurgents at he was kidnapped early this month.
Reacting to the news, Nathaniel Bassey urged Christians alive to note that their faith is beyond comfort.
He wrote:
“Just reading about this Man of God, Rev Lawan Andimi, who was abducted and killed by terrorists in Northern Nigeria. (Had to read and confirm first from a credible source). This picture is against the backdrop of the flag owned by a Terrorist organization which I have decided to crop away so I do not give them that publicity which they always desire.
A true servant of God, who chose not to deny His faith in Christ Jesus. We join heaven to salute You. We pray for His family at this time for strength and the comfort of the Spirit.
And to those of us still here, we must realize that our faith is beyond bread and butter. And one that may demand the highest sacrifice just as our dear brother here as paid. We must also determine to preach the GOSPEL of our Lord Jesus come what May and respond with love but never with hate, and also realize that true to Jesus’ words, persecution is real and also real in our nation Nigeria.
It is well, In Jesus’ name“.
