Some Lagosians were stranded this morning following the ban of motorcycles and tricycles popularly known as ‘okada’ and ‘keke, from major roads.

Meanwhile, Okada riders in some parts of the state are protesting what they term “unrealistic” and “extortions” by the police, the Nation newspaper reports.
According to them, the 2,000 restricted roads for motorcycles and tricycles are unrealistic. They said government was simply saying they should not operate in the metropolis again.
Reacting to the ban, a Lagosian, Muhammed said ” That’s rubbish…. did u know how many life depend on it to feed their family…. only the poor suffer for it”
One Laide Layori said “It has to be a joke.. I can’t even count the number of people that’ll be jobless. Crime rate will multiply and do they expect me to be trekking.. Bikes and Keke have been saving lives. It is a very stupid act if it’s carried out cos traffic in Lagos is hell. “
While One Ms Sola said ” They should be ready for the fall back and there would be a lot more stress for the less privileged and also it would affect many productivity.”
