A lady has accused the police of extorting motorist due to the traffic gridlock caused by the ongoing construction of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
Sharing a video on Instagram, the lady wrote:
“We know the government combined with Julius Berger are trying to make Lagos-Ibadan expressway better for use… but the suffering for us that stay at the surrounding and work on the island is too much… leaving your house as early as 5am and still get to work at 9am or sometimes 10am… We need alternative roads to be done. The police together with the area boys decided to be getting N100 from each car before we can be allowed to pass the alternative road which is very bad but because we all want to get to work we had no choice than to pass…. please we need the alternative roads to be passable pending the time our roads is fixed to reduce the congestion on the expressway… Please we need help.. people are losing jobs cause they get to the office late…”
