Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) has advised Nigerians in China to stay indoors as part of precautions to avoid contacting coronavirus.
Coronavirus which broke out in China has seen the death of 132 persons with 3,554 people infected.
A statement issued by NIDCOM chairman, Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, through the Head of Media and Public Relations Unit of the commission, Mr Abdur-Rahman Balogun, advises Nigerians living in China to embrace measures prescribed by the country’s health ministry towards avoiding infection.
“It is important to advise Nigerians in China to be careful and to take necessary precautions by staying indoors more for now,” she advised.
She further advised them to avoid contact with people with cold and also crowd areas.
Dabiri-Erewa also advised against eating uncooked meat and fish and to ensure hands are washed properly as a way of maintaining good hygiene.
“While some are worried that they may run out of goods and other household stuff as a result of movement restrictions, I want to assure you that
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is monitoring the situation,” she said.
