Founder of Akure Church where boy was kidnapped, appears in court

Embattled founder of Sotitobire Miracle Center, Babatunde Alfa is currently being arraigned in court following the missing child saga

It was learnt that the self acclaimed prophet was arraigned alongside six other members of the church identified as Omodara Olayinka, Margaret Oyebola, Grace Ogunjobi, Egunjobi Motunrayo, Esther Kayode and Peter Anjorin on two counts of felony and kidnap

While we promise to bring you details from the ongoing court case soon, it may be recalled that the missing one-year-old boy, Gold Kolawole, mysteriously disappeared during a Sunday service in the church on November 10.

Angered by the perceived nonchalant attitude of the leaders of the church over the boy’s disappearance, youths on Wednesday, December 18, burnt down the church.

In the rather violent protest, property worth millions belonging to the church was destroyed, three people, including a police officer, were killed and several others injured.
