Former Chelsea and Ivory Coast international, Didier Drogba has fulfilled a 10-year debt he owed France and Paris St Germain player, Kylian Mbappe.
This was at the 2019 Ballon d’Or awards which held in Paris last night and was hosted by Drogba and Sandy Heribet.
According to Drogba, after the semi-final game against Barcelona in 2009, a kid walked up to him and asked to take pictures with him.
He refused because he wasn’t happy with the outcome of the game due to the officiating by Referee Tom Henning Ovrebo. He later learnt the kid was Kylian Mbappe.
He said on stage: ‘Ten years ago after a match, a child came to me and wanted to take a picture.
‘That day I said no because of the result [and the refereeing]. I learned that the child was Kylian Mbappe. I want to pay my debt now.’
