The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has stressed that there will not be a scarcity of petroleum products during the Yuletide; Christmas and New Year season.
As we all know, the yuletide in Nigeria is usually characterised by a scarcity of petroleum products especially Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) called fuel.
However, the Managing Director of NNPC Mele Kyari has assured that the agency has made adequate plans for the period, saying there would be an abundance of the products.
Kyari spoke Ikeja on Wednesday as he visited Governor Babajide Sanwolu of Lagos State and tank farms at the Ijegun-Egba corridor.
According to him, the NNPC would also partner with relevant stakeholders like the Lagos State Government to ensure that there is a free-flow of the products in the country during the festive period.
“As a responsible corporate citizen,” Kyari assured, “NNPC and its partners in the Downstream have made adequate preparations, and our plan is robust and we foresee a very hitch-free Christmas full of products, well into the New Year.”
He also lauded the initiative of the tank farm operators at the Ijegun-Egba area for fixing the Ijegun Road leading to the tank farms for easy movement of trucks.
This is as he assured them that the NNPC would be working to bring a permanent solution to the road as well as other issues affecting them.
