MTN Nigeria have issued a statement to state its position on the xenophobic attacks in South Africa.
The attacks which mostly affects Nigerians have seen many of them on social media threatening to boycott products from South Africa.
In reaction, MTN a telecommunications company from South Africa, stated that they are against the attacks inspired by hate and prejudice.
CEO of MTN Nigeria, Ferdi Moolman issued the below statement.
Meanwhile, the South African High Commissioner to Nigeria, Bobby Moroe, has been summoned by Nigeria’s minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, over xenophobic attacks in his country.
The duo will be holding a meeting on Tuesday. This was confirmed via a Whatsapp statement by a senior official in the ministry, Kimiebi Ebenfa.
It reads: “I am directed to inform you that the Minister of Foreign Affairs has summoned the High Commissioner of South Africa for a meeting this morning by 11. The meeting was confirmed a few minutes ago.”
