Nigerian celebrities were at loggerheads on social media over the xenophobic attacks in South Africa.
Few days after the attacks kicked off, Hushpuppi took to social media to slam fellow celebrities for being mute about the incident which affected Nigerians in South Africa.
According to him, had it been it was Busola Dakolo crying out about rape, they all would have become Twitter judges.
His words were supported by Daddy Freeze who wondered why celebrities were quick to pronounce judgment against COZA Pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo, in the rape allegation against him by Busola Dakolo with no evidence, but kept mum in the face of evidence against xenophobia in South Africa.
In response to Hushpuppi, 2face Idibia slammed him by stating that it is not the obligation of celebrities to speak up all the time especially when they might be preoccupied with something else.
Firing back at 2face, Hushpuppi wondered what might be keeping them so busy to lend a voice against the loss of properties owned by Nigerians in South Africa.
Shortly after his words, Nigerian celebrities started tweeting all sorts of anti-xenophobic statements.
However, their statements didn’t show any real concern for the victims of the attack. It all appeared like they saw the situation as an avenue to chase clout.
This provoked Wizkid who waded in by slamming them. In his tweets, the singer used the F-Word on his colleagues and told them to keep their mouth shut instead of chasing clout about the issue.
His words: ”I’ve seen so many insensitive and dumb stupid comments from You celebrities and I’m so disappointed! This is not a time to fight or point fingers!! Let love lead. Use your head!
”Y’all want to go around preaching hate and fighting each other when the real problem is not even on social media! ”And if you don’t have anything sensible to say at this sensitive time pls just promote your music”
