Why ex- president Goodluck Jonathan’s mother cried when she saw her son’s coffin during a protest

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has revealed why former president Goodluck Jonathan’s mother cried when she saw protesters carrying a mock coffin of her son.

This was during the Occupy Nigeria protest of 2011 which saw Nigerians storm the streets against the removal of fuel subsidy.

According to Reno Omokri, the coffin with Goodluck Jonathan’s name inscribed on it was a horrible sight to his mother who had 10 children but only 2 survived infancy.

He tweeted:

“@GEJonathan’s mother had 10 children. Only GEJ and his sister survived infancy. This left her TRAUMATISED. She cried for days after seeing a coffin of her son being carried by #OccupyNaija protesters. Yet GEJ NEVER stopped the protests That‘s TOLERANCE”

Twitter users reacted:

“I feel like crying at this…it seems like I am being pour cold water. This is actually a curse they brought on themselves not me and my family and generation”.

Another wrote:

“Nigerian need to march to bayelsa to beg @GEJonathan , if he no forgive or pray for Nigeria I don’t see any breakthrough from this oppressor … his Tolerance is a coursed on this nation”.

Man Utd near £50million deal for Eriksen

Manchester United have opened talks with Christian Eriksen over a summer move from Tottenham Hotspur, The Independent reports.

The London club would now want to sell the 27-year-old in this window so as to acquire longer-term reinforcements, for example, Bruno Fernandes and Paulo Dybala.

Eriksen's contract with Spurs ends one year from now and he wouldn't like to sign another contract.

He at first just needed to go to Real Madrid, yet they have cooled their enthusiasm, leaving United as the main genuine bidders.

Spurs will wait for upwards of £50million for Eriksen.

United are sure of getting it over the line, before the transfer window shuts down at 5pm...
