Kidnappers injure Nigerian lawyer who fought them to prevent his father’s kidnap

A Nigerian lawyer has narrated all he did to prevent kidnappers from abduction his ailing father from their home in Abia State on August 7.

According to the man identified as @chrisecia on Twitter, the kidnappers believed to be cultist came with the sole aim of kidnapping his father.

Sharing pictures of injuries he sustain while fighting them off, he wrote:

“I have no words but to say thank you to the Most high God who delivered I and my family from the hands of kidnappers and armed robbers. They came to kidnap my father but with strength from Above, I fought em with everything in me.

“I did all to protect my parents from being hit with the athey came with as they were black axe members. They used rods, stools but God gave me the strength to fight back which gave my father room to escape. He had just returned from a surgery on thursday before this incident 2day

“They took our phones, my laptop, our watches as they had failed to kidnap him. I just want to thank God for his mercies and protection over my family. If i had gone for service if the date was not moved, what would have happened? May all praise be to God…”

Nigerian Army admits killing three police officers, say they were mistaken for kidnappers

The Nigerian Army has admitted to killing three police officers whom they say were mistaken for kidnappers.

This was after the police through their spokesman Frank Mba raised an alarm of how the three police officers who were sent to arrest a kidnap suspect we're shot dead by some soldiers.

According to Frank Mba, the officer had arrested the kidnap suspect named Hamisu when the soldiers shot them dead thereby freeing the suspect.

However, according Army spokesman, Colonel Sagir Musa, troops exchanged fire with the police men after they failed to stop at three checkpoints. He stated that they were responding to a distress call which told them that someone had been kidnapped.
