Gunshots have been fired at members of the Revolution Now who converged at the National Stadium in Lagos to demand for good governance.
The protesters were welcomed by policemen who cordoned off the entrance to the national stadium in order to prevent their activities. They were later joined by some soldiers.
This didn’t deter the Revolution Now protesters who kept on chanting for the release of Omoyele Sowore.
Recall that Omoyele Sowore was arrested by the Department for State Security, DSS, last week just days before the commencement of the protest which he was to head.
One of the protesters, Eliaz Ozikpu, who spoke to TheCable said security operatives crossed over to meet them where they were converged.
“We were standing here, while they watched us from the other side. Suddenly, they moved on us and said we can’t talk to the press. We weren’t even talking to the press yet. We were addressing ourselves,” he said.
