Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, Leader of the proscribed Islamic Movement of Nigeria is on his way back to Nigeria, the spokesperson of the group, Ibrahim Musa, has said.
According to him, the decision is due to a lack of a breakthrough in the impasse that ensured with regard to the treatment of the Shiite Leader in India.
Recall that yesterday Kemifilani has reported that the FG apologized to India over El-Zakzaky rants, accuses Shiites leader of being ‘unruly’.
The Nigerian government in a statement released by the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Information and Culture, Grace Gekpe released a statement accusing the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky of being unruly upon arriving India for treatment.
The statement released was in order to counter the claims of the IMN leader who claimed he was treated like a criminal under heavy security surveillance in India.
It also disclosed what led to the issue while pointing out that El-Zakzaky was allowed to embark on the trip with state officials in line with a court order and his choice to be accompanied by his aides and personal doctors was not opposed.
The IMN leader was accused of requesting to be allowed to check into 5-Star Hotel instead of being admitted in the hospital, and also demanding that the Police protection be withdrawn from him by the Indian authorities.
