Shi’ites of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, IMN, have clashed with the Nigerian Police Force after they burnt down a NEMA emergency station in Abuja in protest.
The Shi’ites were protesting in demand for the release of their leader, Sheik Ibrahim El-zakzaky, who is being held by the Federal Government despite a court ordering his bail.
The protest reportedly began at the Federal Secretariat before proceeding too the National Assembly which was already cordoned off by police.
According to eyewitnesses, the police made use of live ammunition on the protesters who out of anger burnt down vehicles.
