Pipeline explosion in Ijegun leaves many people and properties burnt

A pipeline explosion which resulted in a terrible fire outbreak has left many people and properties burnt in Ijegun, Ikotun, Lagos State.

The explosion which occurred in the early hours of Thursday saw residents fleeing their home for safety.

Fire fighters are currently on ground battling the fire caused by pipeline explosion.

Investigation is currently going on to ascertain the cause of the pipeline explosion.

An eyewitness, Babajide Lawal, said the noise of the explosion woke residents up in the neighbourhood, adding that casualties have been recorded.

Lawal said, “There is fire incident at Ijegun Last Bus Stop, in fact, no one can move near the place because the whole area is burning. What woke us up was the sound of the explosion and when we came out to observe what happened, we saw the fire burning everywhere.”
