Femi Gbajabiamila denies being convicted in US

Femi Gbajabiamila who is one of the major contenders in the speakership race for the 9th House of Representatives has denied reports he was convicted in United States of America. 

Mr. Rotimi Oyekanmi, The Chief Press Secretary of INEC denied the commission was aware of any evidence of Gbajabiamila’s alleged conviction by a US court.

Rotimi said: “INEC is not aware of any evidence of Gbajabiamila’s alleged conviction in the US.”

On the other hand, Gbajabiamila has threatened regarding to the story he is going to take legal action.

The Director-General of Femi/Wase Campaign, Jibril Abdulmumin, disclosed this on Wednesday in Abuja at press conference to respond to the alleged conviction of Gbajabiamila by a US court. 

Jibril noted Gbajabiamila had never been accused of corruption and had no corruption case in Nigeria or anywhere in the world. 

He added that he did not commit perjury in Nigeria or any other country.

He said: “For the benefit of doubt, we wish to once again state emphatically clear that Hon Femi Gbajabiamila has never been convicted for any crime in the United States of America, Nigeria or any other country around the world for that matter. 

“He has never been accused of corruption and has no corruption case hanging on his neck in Nigeria or any where around the world. He has not committed perjury and has never committed perjury in Nigeria or any country of the world. He was eligible to contest in all previous elections he won and indeed eligible and qualified to contest for the office of Speaker House of Representatives in the 9th Assembly.”

Man beats wife for confronting him over side chick’s birthday shout out

A man has been accused of descending on his wife for confronting him over a birthday shout out sent to him on social media by his side chick.

According to @yommigold who shared the story on Instagram, the wife questioned the husband on why his side chick sent him a message saying "Happy Birthday my husband".

Her probing didn't sit well with the man who lashed out at her and inflicted injuries on her face as seen in the picture below. He also beat her younger sister and their daughter who came to her rescue.

The Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) has spoken on the cut-off marks for 2019 UTME. The board on Wednesday said there's no cut-off mark yet.

Due to flying rumours that the board has released the cut-off marks for placement of candidates into the tertiary institutions, Fabian Benjamin JAMB’s head of media and Information has revealed there's nothing tangible in the speculations.

“We want to seize this opportunity to caution the public especially candidates, not to allow themselves to be swindled by these desperate individuals that are peddling this rumour.

Woman who planned to share pregnancy pictures on Facebook dies during child birth

Below is a sad story shared on Facebook of how a woman identified as Elizabeth died while giving birth.

Before she died, Elizabeth took some pictures showing her heavily pregnant and begged that the pictures should not be deleted because she has plans to upload them to Facebook when she has delivered.

Elizabeth's last words:

"Don't delete those pictures , When I'm through with this pregnancy I'll post them on facebook, I am not there for now until I'm delivered of my baby."

Sadly, Elizabeth died while giving birth to a bouncing baby girl. The pictures which she planned to upload on Facebook were later shared on the social media...
