Liverpool forward, Sadio Mane has admitted that his side are favorites to win the UEFA Champions League this season.
He made this known as Liverpool set to battle Tottenham in an all English final on Saturday in Madrid.
“The final is a one-off game, it will be different from the league,” the Senegal forward told TF1 .
“You cannot hide, I think we are favourites.”
“Before the game [against Barca], I had never seen the boss like that,” Mane added.
“Klopp encouraged us but, honestly, not even he believed it. He is exceptional, he makes you want to fight for him and give everything for him.”
Klopp did hint as much in his post-match interviews following that unforgettable Anfield night.
“I said to the boys before: ‘I don’t think it’s possible but because it’s you I think we have a chance,’” the exhilarated German boss said on the night. “They are really mentality giants. It’s unbelievable.
“After the season we played, the games we had, the injuries we had now in this moment, if you go out there and ask who bet a penny on us, I don’t think you would find a lot of people.
“We know this club is the mix of atmosphere, emotion, desire and football quality. Cut off one and it doesn’t work.”
