Portuguese club, Sporting CP, are in talks to rename their Jose Alvalade stadium as CR7 or Alvalade CR7 in honor of their former player Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo started his football career with Sporting CP and the president of the club Frederico Varandas is reportedly thinking of changing the stadium’s name to honour him.
Talks have already began with Cristiano Ronaldo and the idea has been accepted by the board members.
CR7 is a global brand which the football club is planning to tap into so as to increase their popularity and provide avenues for them to get more sponsors.
