The Nigerian student, Zainab Aliyu who was detained by Saudi authorities over charges of drug smuggling has been released.
This was confirmed by the permanent secretary, ministry of foreign affairs Suleiman Mustapha.
This comes hours after President Buhari ordered the AGF to intervene in the case.
Zainab Aliyu, a student of Maitama Sule University, Kano, who travelled for Lesser Hajj in Dec. 2018 was detained by the Saudi Arabia authorities for allegedly being in possession of a banned substance.
