Aisha, wife of the Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari has revealed plans to establish a private university named after her husband.
Aisha Buhari made this known at a town hall meeting in Yola, organised by her in collaboration with Concerned Indigenes of Adamawa. According to the first lady, the university will be established in collaboration with partners from Sudan and Qatar.
She said at the meeting, “I cannot conclude without suggesting how we can complement the efforts of government in achieving some of its developmental goals.
“On this note, I would like to advocate for the establishment of Adamawa Development Trust Fund through which prioritised developmental projects can be financed and implemented”
It is not yet known where the university will be located.
Two foreign tourists have been killed and three others abducted after gunmen armed with dangerous weapons attacked tourist centre, Kajuru Castle Resort, Kaduna at about 2pm on Saturday.
Daily Trust reports that a resident of the area said, "We understand she was gun down from the hill by the kidnappers, who tried to gain entrance into the castle but failed. They took away about five other locals since last night but one person escaped".
Kaduna state police command spokesman, DSP Yakubu Sabo, while confirming the incident in a statement, said the gunmen shot sporadically and in the process, shot two persons including a female expatriate to death, and whisked three others away.
