The Federal government, through President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, has revealed how Zainab Aliyu, the student incriminated in drug-related matters and detained by Saudi Arabian authorities, was set up.
Zainab Aliyu, a student of Maitama Sule University, Kano, who travelled for Lesser Hajj in Dec. 2018 was detained by the Saudi Arabia authorities for allegedly being in possession of a banned substance.
Reacting, Onochie claimed that some Nigerians at the Airport deliberately planned and foisted pain on Zainab’s family.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Onochie wrote: “What Ms Zainab Aliyu and her family are going through now, cannot be imagined. Horrendous!
“Disheartening is that some Nigerians at an Airport deliberately planned and foisted this pain on Zainab. Evil
“Many Nigerians may have been executed in this way. My prayers are with Zainab.”
Zainab Aliyu was released hours ago. This was confirmed by the permanent secretary, ministry of foreign affairs Suleiman Mustapha.
