Sergio Ramos has stated that he had no intention of hurting Lionel Messi during the El-Classico clash between Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The game which ended 1-0 in favour of Barcelona saw Sergio Ramos and Messi confronting each other twice on the pitch during the first half.
Ramos was however lucky to escape with a yellow card after a second incident which saw him swipe his hand across Messi’s face.
Downplaying the incident, Sergio Ramos said:
“These things happen in games. I did not mean to catch in him.
“However, he has taken it very badly and stayed down.
“The referee made the decision and that is the end of it for me,” Ramos told Marca.
