Yes. Solari is still in the club as Real Madrid confirmed that they offered him to stay in the club —in an undisclosed role— while they scheduled a press conference for 20:00 CEST to welcome Zidane back.

Zidane will be taking the seat of Santiago Solari, who took over after the club decided to get rid of Julen Lopetegui.

Solari’s Real Madrid suffered defeats in the hands of Barcelona in the Copa del Rey Semifinals and Ajax in the Champions League’s Round of 16. The Champions League exit raised eyebrows and fans of Real Madrid wanted Solari to leave.

Although Zidane will coach the team and Kickstart a new era this Tuesday, it’s clear that the club’s effort will be focused on next season.

Zidane according to reports will have full control of the transfers and could rebuild the squad, so Zidane could use the next few games to see who he can trust going forward. Therefore, players like Ceballos, Isco, Marcos Llorente or Odriozola could get some relevant minutes before the end of the season.
