Founder of the Get Them Off The Street (GTOTS) initiative, Isaiah Terungwa Jonathan, has died alongside his wife and their three children in a fire incident that occurred in the early hours of Saturday at Bawo road, Hausawa quarters, Kano.
The fire, which started from the sitting room, prevented the deceased and his family members from escaping.
According to a witness, “When we heard some noise at the early hours, we thought robbers had visited us. But when we came out, we saw the fire which burnt some part of the house and it became difficult to put out. We saw them trying to pull out the burglary proof. We couldn’t find a ladder to get to their rescue.”
The spokesman for the Kano police command, Abdullahi Kiyawa, confirmed the incident.
