Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has stated that the tactics deployed by Manchester United against Chelsea is the reason they won the game 2-0.
Solskjaer said he ordered his midfielders, Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera, to get into the box and attack
“The tactics worked, we asked our midfielders Paul and Ander to get into the box and attack.
“Chelsea are a good team but defensively we did a fantastic job, Juan did a fantastic job. With the ball we could have done better but defensively fantastic.
“It’s a massive result, obviously we’ve had some criticism after PSG where we didn’t create a lot, but every single player did exactly what we asked of them,” Solskjaer told Sky Sports after the game.
United will be in the FA Cup quarter final with Wolverhampton but will first host Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.
“Next game now is Liverpool and we just have to focus on that one.
“Wolves away, we have to do it the hard way, they’re a very tough team to play against,” the Norwegian added.
