Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, national leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), has accused former President Olusegun Obasanjo of being the greatest election rigger in Nigeria.
Tinubu made the statement at the APC presidential rally that held at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos on Saturday.
The political bigwig narrated how Obasanjo’s administration conducted the election that brought in late President Umar Musa Yar’Adua, one which Yar’Adua himself admitted was rigged.
Tinubu went on to say, “Who sent Michelin, Dunlop, Siemens packing out of the country, it was the PDP government. I introduced independent generating power projects in Badagry. What did he do? He and Atiku opposed it. I went to court. Who was my lawyer in court? Osinbajo. I won in court and we started generating 300MW, the first state to do it. Imagine, that was in 1999. If Nigeria was dedicated to electricity generation, you would not see Dunlop and Michelin move out of the country. Look at our roads, look at the vehicular density in Lagos alone.”
“They want to come back to take our money to Europe and America. For the foreign observers, you are truly welcome, observe what you want to observe, write your report in peace and go home, this is our democracy. America is still questioning its own democracy.“
Tinubu also added that Obasanjo should be relegated to the dustbin.
