Chelsea have been banned from signing players for the next two seasons after they breached FIFA rules concerning youth players.
The ban which ends in 2020 does not prevent the release of players and does not affect the women and futsal team of the club.
Chelsea now have 3 days to appeal as they bag a fine of £460,000, while the Football Association (FA) got fined £390,000.
This is coming after an investigation was launched into Chelsea’s signing of foreign under-18 players, including former striker Bertrand Traore. According to FIFA, 29 breaches were found.
