In what appears to be a shocking case of violence, a 35-year-old unidentified South African reportedly murdered his 27-year-old fiancée identified as Palesa Moloi,over a bottle of whiskey.
According to Dailysun. Za, the suspect who claims to have great values for his culture bought a bottle of Jameson whiskey, and told everyone in his household he would be the one to open it.
It was learnt that Palesa Moloi could not resist the alcohol when she saw it inside the cupboard, and took a sip, triggering the suspect to stab her several times for not obeying him
Reacting to the reports, Captain Bernard Matimulane said when cops arrived at the couple’s rented room, they found the drunken suspect staring at Palesa’s body.
He said;
“When police interrogated him, he told them he killed the woman because she opened his bottle of whiskey and drank some while he was not around. He told the cops only he, as the head of the household, was entitled to open the liquor.
He claimed it was his culture,” .
The suspect has since Thursday been charged with murder and is expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrates Court.
