Juventus superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, missed a second-half penalty kick for his side in a game they defeated Chievo 3-0.
Juventus were two goals ahead when Ronaldo saw his spot-kick brilliantly saved by Stefano Sorrentino in the 52nd minute after Mattia Bani handled it.
Ronaldo, however still remains the joint top scorer in Italy’s top flight with 14 goals.
Juventus coach, Allegri, reacted to the miss by stating that it was not the first time that Ronaldo has missed a penalty in his career, adding that the former Real Madrid star was rushing too much in the first half to score a goal.
“I don’t think this is the first time that Ronaldo misses a penalty in his career,” Allegri was quoted by The Statesman as telling a news conference.
“The most important thing is that the team won the game at the end.”
“In the first half, he was rushing too much to find the net. In the second part of the match, when he played easier football, he had two or three good goal occasions.”
