The release date for the results of the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Exam (WASSCE) First Series for private candidates has been revealed by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
According to the Head of Public Affairs for the council, Mr Damianus Ojijeogu, the results for the 12,133 candidates who are sitting for the exam, will be released in March.
He said this while speaking with the News Agency Of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Monday, January 28, 2019.
Mr Damianus said that according to the figures, 3. 51 per cent increase have been noted over the 11,721 students who registered in 2018 for the maiden edition.
He added that they are assured of smooth examination conduction across the country as the council had put in massive efforts to make it so.
The head Of Council also added that the examinations which began in January 21, will be ending on February 4, 2019, with the candidates being tested on 9 subjects.
“It is the belief of the council that the examination officials will go the extra mile to enforce rules and regulations governing the conduct of the examination.
“The council also expects candidates to abide by the rules and regulations.
“It is only when they abide by the rules that examination malpractice can be nipped in the board,” he said.
