It has been revealed why northern leaders have maintained their silence on frequent killings and kidnappings in the region.
According to Shehu Sani, the Senator representing Kaduna Central, who in a series of tweets, highlighted the three reasons, they remain silent because of the fear of being against the President Muhammadu Buhari government among other reasons.
Sani, on his Twitter page, wrote:
“Northern political elites are silent on the frequent killings and kidnappings in the north out of any of these three reasons;FEAR not to be seen opposing the Government;BELIEF that the President is doing his best;INDIFFERENCE because it’s the poor that are dying.”
It was reported recently that no fewer than 17 people were killed by bandits in Magami Village, Faru District of Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
