The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Delta State University, Abraka (DELSU), has raised alarm over the activities of rituals killings within the university community.
Their call is coming after a miss Elozine Ogege was allegedly murdered by suspected ritualists after she was declared missing by the police. The 300 level student was later found dead with parts of her body removed.
Briefing the press, the ASUU Abraka branch chairman, Professor Abel Diakpoaromre, condemned the murder of Miss Elozino Ogege.
He also stated that the university’s image will not be tarnished by the activities of Yahoo Boys.
He said, ” The surging spate of criminality in the town does not only pose a threat to students, staff of the university and other residents but also a slure to the entire image of the state and the nation, it’s not fair and the security agents must do something about it faster, we are worried and not happy with the current situation that May put the university in a bad light”
