Suspected members of insurgent group, Boko Haram have kidnapped 15 girls in a village near Toumour, South Eastern Niger.
Daily Trust reports that “Boukar Mani Orthe, the mayor of the town in Niger’s Diffa region near the border with Nigeria, said about 50 unidentified armed men seized the girls in a village about nine kilometres from the town centre.”
Kidnapping young girls has become a trademark for the terrorist group, following the kidnap of over 200 school girls in Chibok in 2014 and the Dapchi school girl kidnap in 2017.
