Nollywood actor, Yemi Solade recently traded words with an Instagram user after the actor shared a poster of APC gubernatorial candidate, Babajide Sanwoolu congratulating for emerging victorious in the party primaries that held last week.
That episode got many wondering Solade is now a full blown politician but in an interview with Punch Newspaper’s Sunday Scoop, the actor has clarified his stance.
The movie veteran said his decision to share a poster of Sanwoolu is based on his relationship with him as a friend. He said, “I am a registered member of the APC and my post was to support a friend. But for those who will not stay on their lanes and need cheap publicity, it is necessary to put them in their place.”
Speaking on Sanwoolu’s ability to perform as governor, Solade added, “I can’t say Sanwoolu will perform better as governor. We should wait and see what happens”.
