Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri says Cristiano Ronaldo will take time to adjust to life at Juventus after joining in a 100 million move from Real Madrid in the Summer.
Ronaldo has failed to find the back of the net for Juventus in his first three matches and he has already been criticized for that in some quarters.
He has had 23 shots without scoring, eight more than any other player who has yet to score in one of Europe’s top five leagues.
Allegri said after the 2-1 win over Parma
“Italian football presents different problems,” said Allegri.
“It takes time,” said Allegri. “He’s not getting the rub of the green at the moment either – the ball is not bouncing right for him or he’s shooting just off target.
“We’ll all be fresher after the break and that’s when the real season starts.”
He continued: ‘Serie A is a league where the teams defend carefully. I don’t want to say that it’s better than other leagues in Europe or not. Let’s just say that the teams are very strong in defense and the coaches are very good.
Ronaldo scored in his first five games after joining Real Madrid from Manchester United in 2009.
