The likelihood of governor Akinwunmi Ambode becoming the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress in the 2019 elections in Lagos State seems to be becoming certain following a new development today.
A rally which was to herald the campaign of Babajide Sanwo-Olu, a governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has been called off.
Sanwo-Olu was reported to be the candidate favored by the godfather of the state’s politics, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who is said to have a disagreement with Ambode.
According to a chieftain of the party, the rally for Sanwo-Olu was canceled after they received an order ‘from our Leader’ that it should not hold at the Blue Roof situated in the premises of Lagos Television (LTV).
He said the decision may be as a result of the meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on the political crisis in Lagos State.
