Actress, Adesua Etomi-Wellington has been chosen as one of 8 digital creators in the world who will attend the annual Goalkeepers event in New York this September.
The eight individuals will learn and work to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation started Goalkeepers last year because, despite remarkable advances in the fight against poverty, inequality and disease, the job is not yet finished. Progress is possible, but it is not inevitable and that’s why Goalkeepers was designed. It is a catalyst for action, bringing leaders from around the world to share what is working, what’s not and to forge new partnerships for action.
Adesua shared the news via social media with the caption: “It’s a good day to be alive. Guess what guys?
I’m grateful and honoured to announce that I’ll be heading to New York to attend the annual Goalkeepers event which was started last year by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. I’m excited to know how each of us can play a role in conquering global issues. I’ll also learn more about the Global Goals, and meet people from around the world who are working tirelessly to achieve them.
I’m especially interested in learning more about how we can all work together to eradicate poverty all over the world. Imagine a world with no poverty!! Anyway, you’ll get more information about how we plan to do that in just a few days on my channel. In the meantime, head on over to gatesfoundation.org/goalkeepers to learn more about Goalkeepers and their sustainable development goals. Also, what shouldn’t I miss in NYC? Any recommendations?
