Emmanuel Amuneke has been confirmed as the new head coach of Tanzania national team.
Amuneke was unveiled by the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) on Monday, August 6.
Amuneke who started his professional coaching career with a stint at Al Hazm as an assistant coach has managed the likes of Julius Berger, Ocean Boys Nigeria U-17, Al Khartoum of Sudan before taking over the Tanzania national team.
Tanzania Football Federation President Wallace Karia said Amuneke is the best choice for the job
“We had so many applications for the Taifa Stars job but after looking at all factors Amunike emerged as the best candidate for the job.
He has established himself and he has been successful both as a player and coach”
“We will give him all the support he needs to ensure he accomplishes his mission and our focus lies on the 2019 Afcon”
Emmanuel Amuneke led the Golden Eaglets to World cup glory in 2015 but since then he has been unable to get a stable coaching job. he will be saddled with the responsibility of qualifying the Taifa Stars for the 2019 AFCON.
Amuneke made 27 appearances for Nigeria scoring 9 goals before hanging his boots.
