Nigerian Striker, Adeleke Akinyemi has joined Norwegian club, IK Start, on a three-year-deal from Latvian outfit, Ventspils.
Akinyemi who scored seven goals in the Europa League qualifying series for Ventspils has teamed up with another Nigerian, Afeez Aremu in Norway.
“This is a player we have been following for a long time, and for which we have been working for a long time. There are several people who have helped to make this happen, and we have probably had some luck, ” IK Start sporting director, Tor-Kristian Karlsen told the club’s official website.
“Adeleke is a powerful, breakthrough and dynamic player, who likes to run on all the time. He is also good in the air.
“He was in the middle of the season in Latvia and is in top shape, so we hope he can come in to contribute once. At the same time, we must remember that he is only 20 years old, so we must be patient.
Akinyemi has also expressed his excitement after signing his contract, he will wear Jersey number 77.
