Croatia striker Mario Mandzukic has announced his international retirement.
The Juventus striker who has made 89 appearances for the Croatian national team he scored 33 goals the last of which came against France in the World Cup final in Russia a month ago.
He started out with the U19 side in 2004 and was called up for his senior debut by Slaven Bilic in 2007 and he has always represented his country with pride
He played in the 2014 and 2018 World Cup’s, scoring five times in eight games, including one in the final against France.
Mandzukic is Croatia second most prolific scorer of all time behind Davor Šuker. He was named Croatian Footballer of the Year in 2012 and 2013.
