Leicester City battle Manchester United in premier league opener

The EPL resumes with a classic fixture at Old Trafford as Manchester United and Leicester City slug it out for maximum points.

The 2018/2019 season promises to be interesting and entertaining as Manchester City aim to win the league back to back, the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United among others will be aiming to launch a title assault of their own.

Jose Mourinho clamored for a central defender but he was not able to get it he will be forced to work with the defenders at his disposal.

Kelechi Iheanacho is in line to start for Leicester City after his impressive pre-season scoring four goals in three matches.

Alexis Sanchez also enjoyed a fruitful pre-season after an underwhelming first few months at Old Trafford.

Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho has revealed that Matic, Valencia, and others will be absent against the Foxes.

He revealed: “No miracles. [Sergio] Romero, [Antonio] Valencia, Marcos Rojo, [Diogo] Dalot, Ander Herrera, [Nemanja] Matic [are injured] and I think that’s it.”

“The players with a proper pre-season are fit and they are strong. For example, Alexis Sanchez had a good pre-season with lots of matches and lots of minutes.

“[Alexis is] more than ready but you cannot have the players who arrived only last Monday after the World Cup semi-finals or final and three weeks’ holiday. You cannot expect them to be fit.”
